EAB Residential Treatment Program

As a part of the City of Greeley’s Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan, a Residential Ash Treatment Program has been implemented. This program will provide a treatment option with potential cost savings for Greeley residents who own ash trees on their residential properties.

Simply put, you would pay the City of Greeley to treat your tree(s) and City will hire a licensed Pesticide Applicator to provide the preventative treatments.

Once your application has been submitted, a City of Greeley inspector will visit your property and complete an assessment of any or all existing ash trees. You will then be notified of the completed assessment which will include measured tree sizes, tree conditions and an estimated cost of your tree treatment based on the size of your tree(s).

The more residents who participate in this program the better, and through high volume, this program can offer substantial cost savings for residential ash tree owners along with other benefits including:

• Estimated 40% savings in treatment costs
• Avoiding expensive removal of trees (not preventatively treated for EAB)
• Protecting the long term benefits of your tree(s)
• Protecting the landscape value of your property
• Prolonging shade on your property
• Reduces the overall amount of ash trees that will need to be removed in Greeley once EAB infestation reaches us

Step 1 – Read the Program Rules and Regulations
Step 2 – Submit an application through the “Residential Ash Treatment Program” portal
Step 3 – Initial inspection by the City of Greeley
Step 4 – You are prompted for payment to the City of Greeley if your trees qualify
Step 5 – All qualified properties are scheduled for treatments
Step 6 – Treatments will take place between June 15th and July 31st
