University District

The University District is about sense of place…where distinctive neighborhoods and unique local shops merge with the energy of a major public university and a thriving health care system. It is a place where change is not only envisioned, but lived out. It is about people who appreciate and embrace diversity – in thought, culture and economy. It is a place of discovery and learning that captures the Northern Colorado heritage and explores a new destiny – one that people want to be part of.

Formalized as a distinctive area in 2009 by the Greeley City Council, a coalition of City, University and Downtown Development leaders have since then promoted the “live, learn, work, place” experience of this area. Proud to be a “college town” the District is identified by signage and welcoming entryways that let visitors know they are in ‘Bear Country’. A variety of partnerships and initiatives beckon community members to participate in this area’s renaissance.
