Quality of Life Tax

The Quality of Life sales tax, first approved by voters in 2002 and renewed for another 20 years starting January 1, 2019, ensures Greeley has access to amenities in their community. This tax supports vital projects and investments in recreational and cultural amenities, while also enhancing transportation. Thanks to your contributions, we’re improving the city’s facilities and creating spaces for everyone to enjoy. Below, you’ll find just a few of the many projects made possible by your tax dollars.

  • Shurview acquisition (2022 - present): The nearly 1,000-acre property features river bluffs with stunning Rocky Mountain views. It will offer expanded recreational opportunities and vital wildlife habitat for Greeley and northern Colorado.
  • Delta Park (2024 - 2025): A neighborhood park transformation that brought the residents of Delta Park to the design table to truly reflect the vibrancy of the community.
  • Anna Gimmestad (2023 - present): This 5-acre neighborhood park serves as the social epicenter for school aged children and city sponsored after school programs like Fun in the Sun. These programs impacted the design of the renewed playground.
  • Josephine B. Jones (2024): After strolling the 1.8 miles of soft surface trail, the new shaded playground offers a respite from the sun and heat.

  • New Recreation facilities: Family FunPlex and Greeley Ice Hause - These facilities host 800 programs for youth, adults and seniors with amenities like an indoor waterpark featuring three slides, a lazy river, and a zero-depth play area. Enjoy an 18-hole mini-golf course, fitness center, sports programs, and an outdoor amphitheater and Twin Rivers Ball Park. For ice sports, the Ice Haus offers top-notch training for skaters and hockey players of all levels.
